Dragging Equipment Detector (DED)

In 2004, I decided to dig some of the more interesting stuff out of the Eastern Railroad News archive and make it available again. Here, you’ll find a collection of Conrail and other Northeast U.S. area radio alarm detectors from the late 1990s. With the joint acquisition and dismemberment of Conrail (by CSXT and Norfolk Southern) in 1999, you’ll see a variety of Radio Alarm detectors that were added or converted in the late 1990s and early 2000s as CSX and NS moved to update the prerecorded audio messages that are broadcast on railroad radio frequencies.

Note – For converted Conrail-to-NS detectors, the NS Division/Line/Milepost will be listed. For recordings of original Conrail detectors, the original Conrail information will be listed.
